Broderick Wong is an award-winning artist and educator based in Metro Vancouver.
Through workshops and demonstrations, he has helped learners gain confidence
in watercolor through a structured yet relaxed approach that removes overhwhelm
and makes painting enjoyable.
He represented Canada at the Fabriano in Acquarello (Italy), was a featured artist
with Opus Art Supplies, and has won first place at both the Grand Prix of Art Plein
Air Competition in Steveston and the Harmony Arts Festival Plein Air competition
in West Vancouver.
His teaching focuses on adult beginners, people who have always wanted to try
watercolor but felt the medium was too intimidating. Workshops are warm,
well-paced and designed for everyone to leave with a painting they're proud of.
Many adults believe watercolor is difficult or intimidating. My goal is to create a
welcoming environment where students can relax, experiment, and enjoy the
process - while building confidence through simple, repeatable techniques.
Workshops are paced so beginners never feel left behind. We focus on enjoyment
over perfection, and on small wins that compound: one good wash, one confident
brushstroke, one finished painting at a time.
The result is a room of adults who started the morning unsure, and end it surprised at what they made.
